I wanted a conversation

Calling me to the sandy edge

I know the sea too well

I know my heart lies in its shoals

But it’s there, always there

With every swell that crashes on the shore
I want to be baptized
I want to be me

How cruel love is
When joy is not found
When the heart breaks
Instead of feeling full
